With duel PhDs in Public Science and Social Service Administration, and a Master’s degree in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Counseling, Dr. Merchant exemplifies a unique integration of faith, practical application, and mental health expertise.  His PhD in Social Service Administration provides him with a deep understanding of applying Christian principles to social service, enhancing support systems and leadership models within this field. This academic foundation is pivotal for developing ethical frameworks that address complex social challenges through a faith-based perspective.  Dr. Merchant’s PhD in Theology and Public Science represents a groundbreaking approach to merging theological insights with scientific methodologies. This interdisciplinary focus allows him to address public issues through a dual lens of faith and science, creating holistic solutions that are both spiritually and scientifically informed.  In addition, Dr. Merchant’s Master’s degree in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Counseling equips him with advanced skills in mental health and therapeutic practices. Lisa Kingsbury, MPH, LSW, brings an exceptional blend of expertise, compassion, and faith to her role as the Director of Hospice at Trident Medical Home Care and Hospice. With a master’s in public health and licensure as a social worker, Lisa has a robust background in case management, special operations, and client satisfaction. Her career is marked by a steadfast commitment to improving patient outcomes and delivering compassionate care.

In addition to her professional credentials, Lisa is a trailblazer in the community. She founded the first ALS Foundation in Bangor in memory of her late husband, Jim, who bravely battled the disease. This personal journey, combined with her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, deeply informs her empathetic approach to patient care and advocacy.
